A Better GI Bill?

Another Greatest Generation?

VETERANS may receive more benefits across the board: *  Improved Education Benefits * Better Employment Opportunities for ALL Vets, including disabled veterans  *  Home Loans  *  Increased Medical Services through the VA * And Veteran Family Assistance...More!

If this new "GI Bill" passes, the US military will never be the same. Even in peacetime, young men and women will be enlisting by the thousands; Universities and Colleges will benefit; American Patriotism will be rejuvenated in Homes, Schools, Colleges and a wiser, smarter, and a more united United States will evolve.
When I enlisted in the U.S. Army a few weeks after Pearl Harbor, it was for the duration. Over four years later, when I was discharged - along with a few million other veterans -
I went job hunting...along with millions of other veterans. A few months later, I chose the "GI Bill," along with a million other guys.
It was great then. It could be better this time - A lot better!

That was then - This is Now

"Only recently has our nation come to realize that achievement is an aspiration of almost all human beings - including those with disabilities."
When a veteran comes home from Iraq without any immobilizing disabilities, he can feel fortunate, but he still has to find a job, or use his GI Bill benefits. Of course, if he went in the service right out of high school, most of the kids he knew already have a head start. If he has a family to care for he may need some financial assistance.

"It has been five (5) years since the initiative to assist in the disabled in service military veterans to participate in self-employment entrepreneurship as a means of supplementing their rehabilitation."

___________
According to comments made on TV, Senator John Kerry, and Congressman
Peter King expect to send the Bill to House & Senate by the end of February, and they seem to have some serious support.

We owe it to this generation of Veterans, and we owe it to our country. It's time for the American people to be heard, and for legislators to show what they mean when they say, "We support our troops."
